Australia’s Capital City, Canberra, is the country’s largest inland city, with a population of around 350,000. Born out of rivalry between the opposing cities of Sydney and Melbourne, Canberra is centred around the beautiful Lake Burley Griffin, and offers a gateway to a world of historic towns, sites, with an abundance of natural attractions in close proximity.

Following Federation in 1901, The Australian Capital Territory was officially declared in 1911, and submissions were accepted for the city’s design. Chicago Architect Walter Burley Griffin was chosen as the winner of this world-wide competition, and his designs have dictated much of Canberra’s geographical layout, tree-lined streets, formal parks, gardens and water features, designed to compliment the city's natural attractions.
