Darwin, the capital city of the Northern Territory, is a multicultural cosmopolitan situated at the top of Australia. Bordering the Timor Sea, this vibrant metropolis is isolated from any other major city and is entirely surrounded by ocean, reserves, and conservation areas.
A recreational playground, Darwin is the gateway to the celebrated Katherine Gorge, Kakadu and Litchfield National Parks. Darwin has a tropical climate – during wet season surrounding waterfalls come alive, while the dry season brings extended periods of clear skies and sunshine.
Renowned for its world class fishing and abundance of natural attractions, Darwin is also distinguished by its significantly preserved Indigenous heritage, featuring the highest concentration of Aboriginal Rock art in the world.
Innovative cuisine is just another way Darwin is set apart. Dine at one of the city’s leading restaurants and discover a menu featuring anything from Asian cuisine through to Kangaroo, Crocodile, Barramundi – and even camel!
Despite its remoteness, the Darwin International Airport frequently connects visitors from around the world, and the Great Southern Rail provides one of the ultimate trips to Darwin across the heart of Australia onboard the Ghan.
Breaking News about Darwin Accommodation
Seacrest Beachfront Apartments: Delightful Apartments. - The only thing that could have been improved was the ants, I'm scared of them personally. But it was humid and hot and we shouldn't have left sweet things lying around. Our stay was awesome. The beds were comfortable, the unit was nice and had everything we needed down to ice. Reception was very helpful and nice. I'd give it a 10/10 for everything.
Chevron Palms: Wonderful place to stay - it was a short walk to Cavil which I loved, and a short walk to all transport, I will stay there again and my mother and stepfather will stay there the next time they come to Surfers, they looked at the brochure and liked it.
Surfers Tradewinds: Not bad - The apartment was well appointed and easy to get to. Not a bad place to stay and would recommend for a family trip
Diamond Sands Resort: Great location - The pool was excellent and the staff were very helpful and nice. The units are in a tranquil setting, just what you need at the end of a busy day. Location was excellent if you like to be away from all the noise of Surfers but only a 5 min drive to get there. Walking distance to great shops and a short cab ride to Jupiters and Pacific Fair.
