>> An Introduction To Kings Cross
Kings Cross has seen a revival in recent years, shedding its shady reputation to become one of Sydney's trendiest nightspots. It is well worth a visit to experience this atmosphere. It's loud, busy and slightly crazy, with a strong nightlife scene and rich history.

The suburb is home to a thriving nightlife, with many clubs, nightclubs, bars and eateries located in the area. Extremely vibrant by night, Kings Cross is also an enjoyable place to visit during the day.

This suburb is becoming more and more attractive to professionals, bringing with them many new services and attractions.

A major attraction in Kings Cross is the historic Coca Cola billboard - the largest in the Southern Hemisphere. It is seen more of an an icon rather than simply advertising, and marks the entrance to Kings Cross.

Be sure to check out the Al Alamein fountain, with its distinctive dandelion design. It is situated at the entrance to Fitzroy Gardens and was constructed as a memorial to soldiers who died in Egypt during World War II.

The annual Kings Cross Food and Wine Festival, held in autumn, offers tastes and treats galore. It's a great mix of social, economic and ethnic diversity.

Head to Bayswater Road for a more relaxed atmosphere and take in some jazz, watch some cabaret or dine at one of the many restaurants. Or drive down Macleay Street and have a peek at the grand 1920s apartment buildings. Visit the local bakeries and cafes as you admire the grand old houses from the 19th century.

Visit Elizabeth House, a grand old house constructed in 1830, that sits upon the harbour shore. It is now open to the public to view.

Kings Cross offers a different personality depending on when you visit. During the day it is funky and friendly, and there is a lot to see and do. At night the party begins and the bars fill up as people flock to the area for a night out. Kings Cross remains Sydney's party capital.
