>> An Introduction To Kirribilli
Kirribilli is one of Australia's oldest and most established suburbs. It sits upon the lower north shore of Sydney Harbour and is home to exclusive residences and old establishments.
Kirribilli is home to two of Australia's most famous residences: Kirribilli House - the official Sydney residence of Australia's Prime Minister; and Admiralty House, the official residence of Australia's Governor-General. It is also home to the Sydney Royal Yacht Squadron, Australia's oldest yacht club, which dates back to 1862.
Pick up a bargain as you browse the secondhand clothing, bric-a-brac and jewellery at the Kirribilli Markets. More than 200 stalls pack the space and sell a wide variety of merchandise. They are held on the fourth Saturday of each month on the lawns of the former Kirribilli Bowling Club.
Visit Australia's oldest continuously operating professional theatre company and see a contemporary production at The Ensemble Theatre, located in a converted boatshed. Or head to Eastcoast Sailing at Kirribilli and enjoy a trip out onto the waters of the amazing harbour. Learn how to sail on a smaller boat with just you and a skipper. Larger groups can be catered for, too.
Getting to and from Kirribilli is easy, with a ferry service operating from Kirribilli Wharf right into Circular Quay and the heart of Sydney. The wharf is also home to the Kirribilli Wharf Cafe, a gourmet eatery that's a favourite among locals.
Explore the exclusive suburb of Kirribilli and envy its position on the harbour. Its grand old houses are definitely worth a look.
