Visit Magenta
Magenta lies on the Central Coast of New South Wales, with beautiful Tuggerah Lake and the majestic Pacific Ocean on either side. Just 90 minutes drive north of Sydney, Magenta offers easy access to the city. Yet its pristine landscape and relaxing atmosphere make it feel a whole world away.
The stunning waters of Tuggerah Lake are perfect for fishing, waterskiing, boating or kayaking, while its foreshores provide great spots for walking and cycling. Go for a dip in the ocean or try your hand at surfing, sailing, fishing or diving. Wander along some of the world's finest beaches, or play a round at the beachfront Magenta Shores Golf and Country Club, one of Australia's finest resort courses.
Explore Wyrrabalong National Park, a stunning patch of wilderness containing red gum forest, scrubland and wetlands, and remnants of coastal rainforest. There are numerous walking tracks, some leading to secluded fishing and surfing spots, picnic areas and scenic lookouts. Keep an eye out for native wildlife including birds, flying foxes, bandicoots, squirrel gliders and diamond pythons.
Further north at Norah Head stands the iconic Norah Head Lighthouse. Built in 1903 atop an extensive rock platform, this lighthouse is a must visit. Learn about the building's fascinating history and climb to the top to see breathtaking 360-degree views and, between June and November, migrating whales.
Just south of Magenta, The Entrance features amazing golden beaches, a vibrant town centre and plenty of activities. Browse the shops and markets, relax at a waterfront cafe or bar, or just stroll along the beach. Children will love splashing in the aquatic playground, while the daily pelican feeding will entertain people of all ages. Leafy Picnic Point Reserve is ideal for picnics, and also features a playground and skate ramp.
With such an idyllic lifestyle and spectacular natural beauty, Magenta is the ideal destination for a fun family holiday, romantic getaway or weekend escape.
