Visit Manly
Manly is a suburb by the sea that carries the slogan, 'seven miles from the city, a thousand miles from care'. This peaceful suburb offers a great escape, with its pristine beaches, relaxed atmosphere and variety of entertainment options.
Manly is home to one of Sydney's longest stretches of sand, running south from Queenscliff Beach to North Steyne Beach. Popular with both locals and tourists alike, this is the perfect place to spend a day and unwind. The beach is home to the Manly Life Saving Club, which was established in 1904 and is among the world's oldest.
Get up close and personal with some of the ocean's most feared inhabitants at Oceanworld Manly. Walk through the glass tunnel and stare up as fearsome sharks, giant stingrays and ancient turtles swim overhead. Dive in literally and feed the sharks, or keep your feet dry and watch the reptile show.
Q Station was once a quarantine centre for early migrants to Sydney. Today it is home to a luxury hotel and restaurant featuring modern cuisine inspired by the cultures that were once confined to the establishment. For the brave, ghost tours provide a chilling account of life at the quarantine station.
Experience Manly from the water and hire a kayak. A guide will take you on a tour of the local foreshore. Have some fun and get wet as you explore the area's stunning surroundings.
Visit Manly Wharf and experience this vibrant food and entertainment hub, before catching a ferry into the city. The wharf features premier waterfront dining with something for everyone, from seafood and modern Australian cuisine to contemporary Chinese. For a quick snack there are a variety of cafes and takeaway outlets. Alternatively, grab some fresh produce from the retail shops.
Travel on an icon and cruise Sydney Harbour aboard a Manly Ferry. The ferry service will get you into the heart of the city at Circular Quay. Make the journey across the heads and into the city as you take in the stunning views. There are plenty of photo opportunities along the way!
Opened in 1930, the Manly Art Gallery and Museum was the first regional gallery in New South Wales. It is just a four minute walk from Manly Wharf and sits right on the harbour. It features a mix of art, ceramics and photography, and also hosts workshops, artist talks and performances.
Manly is a beautiful suburb with something for everyone, and it is easily accessible from the city. Dine at one of the many restaurants, head to the golden sands of the beach, or get up close to some of Australia's wildlife.
