Visit North Narrabeen

North Narrabeen is located half an hour north of Sydney's CBD, in the beautiful Northern Beaches region. Flanked by Narrabeen Lagoon and Lakes on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other, North Narrabeen boasts a relaxed coastal vibe, stunning parklands, and one of the finest surfing beaches in Australia.

North Narrabeen Beach is famous throughout the world for its legendary surf. This strip of coast offers some of Sydney's most consistent and exciting waves, attracting keen board riders and hosting major surfing contests. The waters are also great for swimming, body surfing and fishing. Enjoy a picnic in Birdwood Park, just beside the beach, which also features a playground for the kids.

At the north end of the beach lies the largest of Sydney's stunning oceanfront rock pools. Carved into a rock platform beside the sea, North Narrabeen Rock Pool is perfect for a quiet swim, and also includes a children's wading pool. From here a scenic coastal trail leads north around rocky Turimetta Headland. Admire sweeping views up and down the coast, en route to tranquil Turimetta Beach or picturesque Warriewood Beach.

Further inland, Narrabeen Lakes offer a popular recreation spot all year round. The calm waters are often dotted with swimmers, kayakers, windsurfers and sailboarders. Fish for bream, flathead or prawns, or share a picnic on the foreshore.

North Narrabeen is dotted with lovely reserves and national parks. Bordering on Narrabeen Lakes, Deep Creek Reserve features a variety of walking tracks, picnic and recreation areas, and assorted plant and animal life. Garigal National Park incorporates a wide expanse of bush and sandstone country. Explore one of the scenic bushwalking tracks, picnic under the trees, or go swimming or boating in the creek.

Assorted restaurants, cafes and takeaways can be found near North Narrabeen Beach and beyond, offering something for all tastes. The iconic Sands Hotel, overlooking the beach, is a great place to enjoy tasty food, cold drinks and live music. Soak up the relaxed beachside atmosphere as you browse surf shops and boutiques. Or visit the large Centro Warriewood shopping centre, which features more than 90 specialty stores and a multiplex cinema.
