The Quiksilver Pro and Roxy Pro 2012 is a major event on the Gold Coast calendar and in the world of Surfing. Last year, more than 52,000 spectators headed down the waters edge to see all of the action of the first World Tour event of the season. The event is based at Coolangatta, aiming to stage the competition at the renowned Snapper Rocks surf break - famous for its Superbank. And when the waves aren't so great there, the Quiksilver Pro can choose from a eviable array of options including Duranbah, Kirra and Burleigh Heads beaches.
This year the Association of Surfing Professionals World Surfing Awards is to be held during the event at the Gold Coast Exhibition Centre, combining glamour and all the action in the water. With world-class beaches, an idyllic climate and a plethora of attractions, the Gold Coast is also known as the place to be – whether it's for surfing, visiting theme parks or fine dining, there is so much to see and do.
