It's no secret Kiwi's flock to the Gold Coast by the tens of thousands each year, most stay for the lifestyle, some just for a summer holiday.
Waitangi Day is a significant day in the history of New Zealand. It marks the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi. The Treaty of Waitangi was a founding document dated in 1840. The Treaty made NZ a part of the British Empire, and gave Maori people the rights to their land.
The Parklands Showgrounds in Southport will host this year's Waitangi Day celebrations on Sunday 4th February 2012. A day of Kiwi music, Hangi (traditional maori food), Traditional Maori cultural performances, Kiwi games and stalls.
Entry is $10.00 and children under 12 years are free. Chilly Bins and Jandals Welcome.
