Canberra Water Sports

Hoping to do some windsurfing while in Canberra?
Despite Canberra’s inland location, Australia’s capital is placed only 2.5 hours from surf beaches on the South East Coast, and has many tranquil lakes not far from the CBD that provide a platform for recreational water sports such as surfing and windsurfing.
Depending on the conditions, East Basin, Blue Gum Point and Old Hospital on the Lake Burley Griffin offer favourable breezes, and Posers Point Yarralumla, Lake Tuggeranong, Lake George, and Lake Ginninderra are other spots worth considering.

Join a professional fishing tour and reel in something fishy on your trip to the Nation’s Capital.
Fish in the heart of Canberra on Lake Burley Griffin, and pull in Red Fin, Murray Cod and Carp, or opt for a bit of trout fishing on the Cotter and Goodradigbee Rivers.
The Namadgi National Park also provides some excellent opportunities to throw a line out, as do the Snowy Mountains and the South East Coastline.
