Canberra has a dry continental climate, with cool winters, heavy fog, and frequent frosts during the cooler months.
It does not snow in Canberra however the surrounding areas experience annual snowfall through the winter. Snow capped mountains create a winter wonderland backdrop for the city.
In summer, the capital city is blessed with warm to hot temperatures, and has considerably less humidity and wind than the surrounding coastal areas.
