South Coast

One of Australia’s great drives is the magnificent South Coast. Located only a couple of hours out from Canberra this beautiful stretch of road is laced with rugged cliffs, dazzling ocean views, and historic towns waiting to be discovered.
Explore Jervis Bay, a town fringed with natural unspoilt bays, hidden creeks, and incredible National Parks. Find a scenic spot of your own hidden at one of the secluded beaches and take a dip in the cool refreshing ocean.
Further south, Batemans Bay was originally a fishing town and is now a bustling township with plenty to do and see. Cruise the Clyde River 11 kilometres up to Nelligen, or stop in at one of the town’s boutique cafes and sample fresh seafood from the estuary.
Continue this southern drive and The seaside suburb of Bermagui provides breathtaking beauty like no other. Rocky headland, crystal clear waters, and unspoiled wilderness allure travellers. Surfing, swimming, snorkelling, diving, and fishing are popular activities with locals. Bermagui’s Wallaga Lake offers special traditional significance with the Yuin-Monaro Aboriginal people.
Eden is a quaint fishing town providing situated in the picturesque Twofold Bay and is a place rich in fishing and whaling history. The town now provides tourists every year with one of the best whale watching spots on the south coast.
