Tourist Drive - Northern NSW Coastline

Explore the idyllic coastline north of Byron Bay on a 50 minute self-drive tour. Travelling along the Pacific Highway and Tweed Coast Road you will pass through lots of beautiful townships located along the northern NSW coastline.
From the Pacific Highway you can turn off Brunswick Heads, New Brighton, and South Golden Beach. To connect to Tweed Coast Road, turn right off the Pacific Highway after South Golden Beach at Wooyung Road. In this 30 minute journey along the coast you will pass Pottsville, Hastings Point, Cabarita, Casuarina, Kingscliff, Fingal Head, and arrive at Tweed Heads on the NSW/QLD border.
Soak in the coastal scenery on the way, enjoy lunch at Tweed Heads, and then you are welcome to do the entire drive in reverse stopping as you please! To join the drive South and get back on the tourist trail, exit left immediately after crossing the Barney’s Point Bridge. Turning right at the roundabout will take you to Fingal Beach. The Fingal Lighthouse is just a short walk away and you can see out to Cook Island reserve.
Drive along the Tweed River at Chinderah and stop to enjoy the breathtaking view of Mt Warning from the riverbank, or head to the surf beaches and alfresco dining of trendy Kingscliff just moments away. Turning left into Wommin Bay Road will take you along the Tweed Coast to the string of seaside villages from Kingscliff to Pottsville. Stop to enjoy a bite to eat at one of these boutique towns, browse shops, enjoy golden beaches, and soak in the beautiful scenery that distinguishes this unspoilt coastline. Join back onto the Pacific Highway to return to Byron Bay.
