Arts and Culture
Art and Culture is a huge part of the Bundaberg way of life. The local Aboriginal group is Dundu:ra/Doondora people, they are the inhabitants of the Hervey Bay region which stretches from the Mary River to the Burnett River. They were part of the Wahr language Group of the Kabi nation.
Bundaberg and its history is displayed at several museums and galleries around the city.
The Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery is a large multi-purpose visual arts facility that showcases exhibitions of local, state,national and international artists. The children’s regional art gallery is situated in the visitors centre featuring contemporary work. Bundaberg holds a multicultural festival annually to celebrate cultural diversity,living in peace and harmony. Many enjoy a day full of fun, entertainment and a huge range of international foods.
