Darwin Entertainment Venues

The Darwin Entertainment Centre is the leading entertainment venue in the Top End, and is situated centrally in the CBD on Mitchell Street.

Host to a variety of events, the centre provides facilities for a range of organisations, from smaller community stage shows, to school concerts, through to larger performances. The Playhouse seats up to 1000 and the smaller Studio Theatre seats a total of 290 guests.

Deckchair Cinema is an outdoor theatre situated on the edge of Darwin Harbour. Its harbourside setting provides a tranquil environment to enjoy a movie with friends and family and soak in the surrounding scenery.

The cinema is open 7 nights a week during the dry season and shows a range of movies from family favourites to foreign films that would otherwise be unobtainable by the public.  

Some seats are provided - bring your own cushion and view exclusive films while you sit under the glittery night sky. Admire the sun as it sets over the ocean, and see the twinkling of lights on ships as they pass the harbour.

Drinks and snacks are available for purchase including wind and beer by the glass.
