Experience the highlights of Darwin Harbour’s magnificent underwater world without leaving land at Darwin’s longest established marine exhibition centre. Indo Pacific Marine allows visitors to learn about Queensland’s unique marine ecosystems without any environmental impact. See the beauty and diversity of live coral reefs that have been designed to function independently as they would in their natural environment.
Join an educational and inspiring day tour of the fully self-dependant living reefs and soak in the beauty of this naturally occurring phenomenon without getting your feet wet. Discover some of the amazing marine animals that call this volatile environment home including sea horses, clown fish and butterfly fish, and learn how to help sustain the biodiversity of our precious reefs.
Visit the spectacular reef by night and indulge in a delicious seafood dinner in a coastal garden setting overlooking Darwin Harbour. Using a torch provided by the tour guide you will have the opportunity to observe the nocturnal world of the living reef at night. Once the lights are turned off you will see corals spawning or fluorescing in a spectacular display of light, and be able to observe minute organisms operating just as they would out in the ocean.
