The museum houses a collection of permanent exhibitions, spread across eight galleries. One of the eight is designed especially for children. Some of the most popular exhibitions include a complete skeleton of a blue whale, a living rainforest, and Phar Lap - Australia's most celebrated racehorse.
Melbourne Museum is also home to the IMAX Theatre and Bunjilaka, the Aboriginal Cultural Centre.

Ingrain yourself in the spirit of Melbourne by taking a walk through the City Museum. The museum presents the story of the city, from the events that shaped it to diverse exhibitions providing an insight into the city's design.
Both permanent and seasonal exhibitions are on show at City Museum, from multimedia exhibitions to the social history and historically important pieces reflecting Melbourne's heritage.
During your visit to the museum, you will be astounded by the historical gold vaults, which now house the permanent 'Built on Gold' exhibition.

Explore the amazing stories of people from all over the world who have migrated to Victoria from the 1800s through to the present day.
Climb aboard the 17 metre replica ship and experience first-hand the long sea journey many immigrants endured as they travelled to this new land.
The spectacular Tribute Garden features the names of 7,000 immigrants who have come to Victoria, from some 90 countries. Entry to the Tribute Garden is free.

When they say science is fun, Scienceworks Museum means it! There are hands-on exhibitions, live demonstrations and plenty of activities to enjoy. If you have a curious mind, or simply like to find out how things work, this is definitely a must see for you.
The educational playgrounds onsite include a Pirate Ship, Steam Train and Science Adventure. Whether you want to push it or pull it, you can do it here! Be sure to check out the Lightning Room, where you can watch produced lightning bolts. The Melbourne Planetarium uses the latest digital technology to recreate the night sky, so you can view the solar system like never before!
