Driving to and around the Sunshine Coast

The sheer size of the Sunshine Coast and limited amount of reliable public transport means that you will probably have to hire a car to get around.
To get an idea of distances and travel times:
From Brisbane to Caloundra: 92km - 1hr 30 min
From Caloundra to Kawana: 9km - 15 min
From Kawana to Mooloolaba: 8.5km - 10 min
From Mooloolaba to Maroochydore: 8.5km - 5 min
From Maroochydore to Noosa: 42km - 40 min
From Brisbane to Noosa: 138km - 2hr 10 min
From Noosa to Eumundi: 21km 20 min
From Eumundi to Nambour: 8.5km - 15 min
From Nambour to Buderim: 15km - 15 min
From Buderim to Maroochydore: 8km - 10 min
Rental cars are available on the Sunshine Coast, from both a variety of large well known companies and smaller local operators.

Speed limits and distances are expressed in kilometres (km) and a speed limit of 50km/h is enforced in residential and commercial areas, unless otherwise indicated. On highways the speed limit is usually 100km/h, unless otherwise indicated.

Inexpensive metered parking is available in busy areas such as the Caloundra and Maroochydore CBDs. Take care to purchase parking tickets and display them clearly on the dashboard of your vehicle.
Some parking in the Maroochydore district is regulated by time limit, rather than parking meters. If you stay longer than the signs indicate, you may be fined.
Free parking is available in most other areas, including Noosa.
