Rusty’s Markets

Located in the Cairns CBD, Rusty's Market is one of the largest and most successful markets in Australia and definitely an icon of the city. From an insignificant start 30 years ago, with only six stalls, Rusty's has grown into a three day event with more than 180 colourful stalls. Enjoy its carnival atmosphere, sumptuous displays of exotic fruit and vegetables, exotic flowers, bric-a-brac, delicatessens, specialty products and excellent selection of food and beverages.

Night Markets

Cairns Night Markets provide a great opportunity for after hours shopping. More than 70 stalls converge here to provide a selection of homewares, giftwares, tattoos, crocodile skins and pearls. Kuranda Heritage Market
Kuranda Heritage Market

Enjoy a laidback and tropical atmosphere at Kuranda Heritage Market. Here you will find a large variety of local artists selling handpainted plates and fabrics, blown glass, pottery, sculpture, and other tropical fauna- and flora-styled crafts. Stall holders are happy to explain their work and overseas posting is usually not a problem.

Listen to the itinerant musicians and watch tribal dancers around you. You will also be surprised to discover several products unique to Kuranda Heritage Market, such as pure emu oil - said to provide excellent relief of arthritis, muscle pain, skin problems and burns; Australian gemstones; fresh-water pearl jewellery; and delicious locally grown organic coffee. The New Kuranda Markets is an undercover complex offering a range of stalls, shops and attractions, including Kuranda Theatre, True Blue Barbeque, Mango Wines and the Aboriginal Art Gallery.

Open daily from 9.30am to 3.30pm, the Aboriginal Art Gallery provides a great range of authentic Aboriginal art, didgeridoos, boomerangs and a wide variety of other artifacts.
