In Far North Queensland you'll have a fantastic choice of fishing activities and entertainment.

You can fish directly from the beach or from a jetty. Common species caught here are mackerel and grunter. At dusk, look for squid, but watch out for the ink! During the warm months of September to November, you will usually catch barramundi, giant trevally, queenfish and sharks. The Spanish mackerel is also a popular target for many locals. Even your kids will have some species to catch, such as whiting, stripeys, and yellowtail.
