Beaches

Warm golden sand bordered by swaying palm trees and clear blue water is what largely allures travellers to the Tropical North Queensland region, and visitors do not have to venture far from Cairns to discover this paradise.
Make your way to the Northern Beaches and in 30 minutes to an hour discover some of the most stunning coastline Queensland has to offer. Port Douglas, Palm Cove, Holloway’s, Yorkey’s Knob, Trinity, Clifton, and Kewarra are popular beaches that offer a sense of seclusion with the convenience of restaurants, cafes and accommodation providing a range of vacation possibilities to suit both couples and families.
Please note, during the summer Cairns experiences warmer temperatures and higher levels of humidity. Although swimming is highly desirable, this is the time when deadly marine stingers (jelly fish) are most present in the ocean.
It is recommended precautions are taken to reduce the chance of being stung before entering the water. For those wishing to dive or snorkel the Great Barrier Reef, stinger suits are provided, and most resorts have swimming pools to provide relief from the tropical climate.
