Fishing
Although the Whitsundays are little known by the fisherman, it’s an anglers’ heaven. The region is better known as a holiday destination. But think about it. There is a big bonus to that. Many of this country best fishing locations offer little else in the way of incentive to the fisherman’s family. Just mention the name “Whitsundays” to your wife, kids or girlfriend and observe the immediate smile. The reaction is guarantied to be favorable.
Fishing at the Whitsundays is as simple as casting your line out and reeling in a coral trout, a red emperor or sweetlip. And you’ll find all the facilities required, including a tackle shop.
Able Point Marina and Shute Harbour offer first class launching ramps with heaps of car parks. The one in Shute Harbour also boasts a lock up security parking. Fuel is readily available at both Able Point Marina and Shute Harbour and of course, in town.
