A bus service provides transport to and from Cairns or to Port Douglas, 40 kilometres north. The beach is patrolled by lifeguards for safe swimming and a variety of water sport activities are available for those with a taste for adventure. Close by is the beautiful Paradise Palms Golf Course, which also features a restaurant and tennis courts.
5 minutes drive takes you to Cairns Tropical Zoo, Tjapukai, the Aboriginal theatre, Skyrail, the 8 kilometre gondola ride and Smithfield Shopping Centre with its many speciality stores.
