The Reef Retreat Guest Reviews

Reef Retreat was set in the trees back about 20 metres from the beach. This meant that it was quiet and private, but still close to all the facilities- beach, shops etc. We loved it. We have been to palm cove twice before and stayed on the beach front, but felt reef retreat was probably our favourite.

The atmosphere in the Reef Retreat is like staying in the middle of a rain forest, in the best of ways. There are massive trees and a variety of undergrowth growing very close to the buildings, that make the rooms feel as if they are built in the canopy. The rooms inside are very tastefully appointed and very comfortable, and outside there is a great pool, jacuzzi and massive barbecue, all very welcoming and great to use. We had originally considered staying at one of the other, similarly priced, places in Palm Cove. I'm glad we stayed at the Reef Retreat instead - there was just no comparison. The other place, whilst very nice I'm sure, was just a standard hotel/apartment arrangement that you could find anywhere.

Absolutely loved it. The kitchen on the balcony, although it was probably put there due to the rooms space restrictions, was a great touch. Enjoyed cooking our meals out in the breeze. It was a lovely relaxing time in a beautiful environment. The staff were very friendly as well.

We found the staff were friendly, efficient and very helpful with booking tours and trips, we found their advice spot on, and thoroughly enjoyed those they recommended. Being disabled I found the facility a disabled friendly environment, with exception to a couple of steps up to the Spa, this also accessed the BBQ area, but they had prewarned me of this, so it was not unexpected. Our stay with this facility was relaxing the rooms clean and comfortable,very close to the shops and restaurants. We found it handy that beer and wine could be purchased from the office. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and hope to stay with there again.

The town house was huge, very clean and comfortable, well fitted out. Location was excellent, very close to Palm Cove beach. Reef Retreat was a delightful place to stay, management very helpful with tour bookings.

We had a fantastic few days at Palm Cove. The staff at the Reef were really helpful. We booked a couple of tours through them and unexpectedly received 2 bottles of wine for doing it! They also put on a bar-b-que for all the guests in on a Wednesday night. It was really nice sitting around talking to some of the other guests. The complex is set out really well as it is a lot larger than I realised! We certainly didn't feel like we were in a big setting. We overlooked the pool area from our kitchen / verahdah area. Great! An easy stroll down to the restaurants and shops and of course the beach. We had friens from the middle of the USA with us so they were really immpressed with the place. We only booked over the internet so had no real idea about the place. It was a great choice. I cant complain at all about our stay.Our friends had to do some laundry and there was a problem with the drier so they were able to use the owners personal one. The only other thing was the toilet was running when we arrived and but the owner got the plumber out straight away and fixed it. They were very helpful with anything.
